New, fresh, Intel has been declassified at the Arma 2 headquarters as new video showcases night operations.
Prague 25th June, Czech Republic – Prague, Czech Republic – Award-winning independent development studio Bohemia Interactive has released a new official in-game video to demonstrate more of the unique new features in the company‘s upcoming standalone expansion pack, Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead. Due to launch next Tuesday, June 29th 2010, Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead will introduce a range of new features, from authentically-modelled thermal imaging to an all-new optics system, alongside three new world maps comprising the fictional Central-Asian state of Takistan. Issued along with the website updates is a video detailing the new night operations features in the massive standalone expansion pack. From night vision goggles to weapon-mounted flashlights, the teaser discloses the realistic features of Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead’s additions for operations after dark, and includes a detailed look at its revolutionary thermal imaging simulation, which sets a new standard of accuracy for FLIR implementations in tactical games. The depth of Bohemia’s attention in creating an impeccably detailed simulation is underlined by the inclusion of realistic restrictions on certain weapon scopes when used in conjunction with night vision equipment, the visibility of infra-red beams and beacons with night vision and FLIR equipment and even realistic behaviour of weapon-mounted flashlights, both in terms of movement and visibility to the enemy.
Set in the new, visually attractive environment of rugged Central Asia, Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead will offer a realistic combat simulation experience in a modern day setting with unprecedented freedom of movement, actions and tactics. Players will enlist into various roles within the US Army, from basic infantryman through to special operative, to pilots and tank crew equipped with hi-end military equipment such a thermal imaging and directly controlled UAVs, in this new installment in the award winning line of military simulators for PC from Bohemia Interactive.
